Pomegranate makeup is the elevated version of this summer’s dewy blush trends. It feels fresh, and radiant but with a slightly darker red/berry blush and a few faux freckles as a nod to the tart, seed-packed fruit.
I love this look because it’s easy to achieve in very few steps and is the perfect end of summer, transitional makeup look. I’m also partial to this look because ‘Swelter,’ my favorite shade of Heat Stroke, is the perfect shade for this look.
Step 1: Hydration
The key to any dewy, radiant complexion is skin prep. Hydrascape is not only deeply hydrating, but it gives skin an instant glow. It’s also my favorite makeup primer regardless of the look.
Step 2: Brows
I like to do brows as the first step in my makeup routine, and because this is a fresh, youthful look, I used our Infinite Hold Sculpting Brow Gel and filled in any gaps once it dried down.
Step 3: Dewy Complexion
Next I used Diffusion Dew, our radiant skin tint, in our new shade Beige 03, which is darker than my normal shade and gives me a bronzy glow. I added a touch of concealer for a subtle lift…under my eyes, along the outer corner of my eyes up towards my temple and under the outer corner of my bottom lip for a lifted effect.
Step 4: Blush
Swelter is my favorite shade of the Heat Stroke cheek tint because it’s the perfect deep berry red and can compliment any makeup look. For this look, I applied a generous amount on my outer cheek bones, first blending up towards my hairline and finishing on the apples of my cheeks. I use whatever is left over on my brush on my brow bone, the bridge of my nose and middle of my chin. Then I apply from the bullet to the middle of my lips for a lip stain effect.
Step 5: Faux Freckles
This step is optional but is a fun addition. I used our Liquid Line Liquid Eyeliner in Substellar, our dark brown eyeliner shade, then softened the dots with my finger.
